Our friends at Texas Values have put out the following call to action. Please read and attend tonight’s Mansfield ISD meeting. If you are unable to attend, you may email the school board members. Their email addresses are listed below.
"Mansfield ISD (MISD) is being pressured to pass a policy that would infringe on religious liberty, and allow boys into girls’ showers, locker-rooms, and bathrooms. Last year, a MISD teacher was placed on paid leave after continuing to teach elementary school students about "sexual orientation" in art class. The teacher had already received multiple warnings, and parents were rightfully upset that their children were learning about sexual issues, rather than art.
The left and the media have twisted the story in order to push for “sexual-orientation, gender-identity” policies in the school district. Now, the school board is being pressured to pass these policies - policies that are infamously known to open the doors to controversy, as well as violations of privacy and dignity of students and staff.
School districts like Dripping Springs have used these policies to allow boys into girls’ facilities, and similar policies in San Antonio threaten students and staff members’ beliefs on marriage.
We need parents, students, and staff in MISD to speak out and tell the school board:
1. It is not appropriate for teachers to promote the LGBT agenda to elementary school children, especially without parental consent.
2. The MISD School Board did the right thing by listening to parents and stopping the promotion of the LGBT agenda.
3. “Sexual-orientation, gender-identity” policies are not in state law, nor should they be in MISD policies.
