A big thank to our wonderful dance majors, families, and SPA supporters for making our Fall Showing such a success. Audience turnout exceeded our expectations and has given us reason to reflect on how we can continue to meet the needs of our growing department. We believe the students and community alike are beginning to sense the quality and significance of the work we are creating here at SPA. Our dancers are engaged in remarkable, important, incredibly challenging work that needs to be shared and seen more often. While process, research, and inquiry will always be core values of our department, we do think it is important to create more performance opportunities throughout the year so that our young artist-scholars can share their training and choreographic thinking with friends, family, and the community. Stay tuned. |

DonorsChoose and Global Giving Tuesday Over the last semester, DonorsChoose.org has helped our department get a model skeleton for our classroom and most recently items for our dressing room including lockers, mirrors, and storage cubbies. We currently have a project posted to help us get yoga mats for our conditioning and pilates classes. On Tuesday, November 27th (Global Giving Tuesday) all donations to our classroom will automatically enter us to receive an additional $5,000 gift code! On 11/27, please consider making a donation to our project here. To help supply us with additional items for our dressing room, Ms. Payne-Bradley also has a project here. Thank you to those that have already donated. Your generosity is greatly appreciated! |

This year our Spring Showcase will take place May 2 - 4 @7pm plus a 2pm matinee on Saturday the 4th. These are mixed-repertory performances with choreography by SPA dance faculty and guest artists. We would like as many dance majors as possible to participate in these shows. If you have a conflict with the above days and times, please let Ms. Orloff know ASAP. More info on these performances to come. **We are looking to rent a portable sprung floor for the Spring Showcase. Anyone with dance and/or theater connections, please reach out if you know of a company that rents out their sprung floor. It would need to support approx. 1200 sq. ft. of marley floor. Thank you!! |
