Attention avid readers: Mark February 15-17, 2018, on your calendars for the Amelia Island Book Festival’s “Encounter Romance, Action & Mystery.” The blockbuster lineup of NY Times best-selling authors is a book buff's bonanza. Tickets are now on sale; except for the Kick off Luncheon which goes on sale to the general public July 29th. Don't miss out; secure your seats early as events often sell out. “We bring in the best authors for our cause,” said John Ruis, President of the AIBF, and former Superintendent of the Nassau County School District. “When you participate in any of our ticketed events, the proceeds support our Authors in Schools Literacy Program.” In 2017, AIBF purchased nearly 8,700 books for Nassau County public school students and brought 21 authors into the county’s 15 public schools. With the opening of Wildlight Elementary, this year there will be 16 public schools which will get authors and books. "Help us raise the bar and help more kids gain this memorable experience,” said Ruis. “Our goal for 2018 is 11,300 books—one for each student.” |

Author Expo/Readers Extravaganza, Feb. 18, 2018- Free admission These authors also will participate in the annual community celebration of all things literary being held at Fernandina Beach Middle School , Feb. 18th. The Expo offers the opportunity to engage with more than 100 noted authors of all genres. The free event is a fun, family event, with contests, food, a Kidz Zone and crafts. Breakout sessions for adults. And parents take note, there will be a special appearance by Ronald MacDonald. AIBF is a 501(c)(3),non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids succeed by nurturing a celebration and passion for books, people, culture and writing. |
