We hope you all had a safe and happy holiday!  It was a wonderful year with The Knitting Studio, and we just realized that our one year anniversary was last November!  Many classes and workshops, from beginner to advanced levels, have taken place here at the studio as well as at other local places like Little Button Craft, and the Rochester Brainery.  And with the help of technology, we've had online classes with students as far away as Saudi Arabia.

Quite a lot of machines have come through our doors in need of repair and maintenance, and a lot of machines, tools, and accessories have been sold.

The greatest gift of all has been working with so many talented and inspirational people.  We look forward to meeting many more of you in 2018.  For the new year, The Knitting Studio has many new classes, and workshops planned, and we'll definitely be sharing more news in the world of machine knitting!

We're so very excited to offer one of the most requested workshops this month, Machine Knitted Socks!  In this workshop you'll learn how to use the knitting machine to create a pair of socks from start to finish using ribbing, circular knitting, and short row techniques.  There are two prerequisites for this workshop - Intro to the Ribber or Ribbed Stitches Level 1, as well as Increasing and Decreasing with the Ribber.

January is jam packed with new classes!  From the very basics with our four introductory classes, to our two workshops, you'll find something new to learn in machine knitting.

Introduction to Machine Knitting - a one day, 2 hour class, where you will learn how to cast on and off, and knit up your very first swatch.

Machine Knitting Level 1 - this is over four days, with 2 hour classes.  Learn how to create stripes, pointelle stitches and more!  You'll also knit up a pair of arm or hand warmers for your final project.

Introduction to the Ribber - a one day, 2 hour class to show you the basics in Double Jersey.  You'll learn how to use the carriages to knit a four row cast on, and transfer stitches from double jersey to single jersey.

Ribbed Stitches Level 1 - this is a Ribbed Stitches Workshop Weekend, which is two days with 3 hour classes.  In this workshop you'll learn how to knit 2x2 Rib, Circular Knitting, and knit a hat for your final project!

Increasing and Decreasing with the Ribber - a one day, 2 hour workshop.  We'll be using new tools to help us along with increasing and decreasing in double jersey.

Machine Knitted Socks - This is over four days, with 2 hour classes.  Knit up your very own pair of machine knitted socks in this workshop!

Private Lessons - Book an appointment for a one-on-one private lesson in person or online.  Private lessons are a great way to learn at your own pace.
