In this re-design of a family of four's great room, creating a warm and comfortable space was paramount. Starting with the focal point of the room, the fireplace wall received a completely new look. Stacked stone selected by the client covered the once plain fireplace and a built in bench we designed became a cozy new addition for seating and storage. Reclaimed wood was implemented for the construction of the shelves and mantle. We suggested keeping their large and comfortable sectional sofa which had served them well for so many years, so simply reupholstering with new fabrics and adding custom pillows breathed new and vibrant life into the piece. The existing coffee table was also rejuvenated by refinishing in a brick red stain. In the kitchen, the main wall was painted an earthy shade with Dunn Edwards color Egyptian Sand which became the backdrop for an eclectic mix of colorful accessories. Bright artwork and a rustic shelf displaying a fun collection from family travels completes the look.
