Summer 2016 Town Recreation Programs

Registration Now Open!

The Town of Wheatland New York invites you, your family & friends to take part in these healthy and enjoyable programs! Get a copy of the latest Town of Wheatland Recreation Brochure with a complete listing of current program offerings by clicking the "Brochure" button below. Download program registration forms from the  NEW Town Website or stop by the Wheatland Municipal Building to pick up registration forms, available at the Town Office any weekday from 9AM to 5PM. Don't wait, as these programs can fill up quickly. Program participation is not restricted to Town residents, so invite your friends and family, even if they live outside of Wheatland.

Town Departments Notes and Information

General - The Town Office is closed on Monday May 30, 2016 for Memorial Day.

Town Clerk's Office - Get a better understanding of your General Property Tax bill, including a detailed look into a sample tax bill that describes each of the various tax levies. The Town Clerk's Office is always glad to answer your questions. 

Highway & Parks Department - As the weather warms up, the Wheatland Highway Department is starting work on two major 2016 road projects. The first one is the reconstruction of Quaker Road between River Road and Bowerman Road. When that is completed, they will begin work on South Road between River Road and Union Street.

Building Department - Thinking about an addition or upgrade to your home or other improvements to your property, check out a summary of the Town's building permit requirements.

Assessor's Office - The Town of Wheatland publishes assessment rolls annually. You can check your property's assessment, market value and related information, as well as review the assessments of other properties in the community. See information about assessment administrative reviews (commonly referred to as the "grievance process"). If interested, complete and file all forms at the Town Clerk's Office soon, as the Assessment Review Board meets on Tuesday May 24, 2016.

Senior Center - The place for Seniors be Active, Fit and Connected! See the Senior Center events and activities schedule, and current month lunch menus.

Recreation Department - Summer Program Registration is now open! Check out the Wheatland Recreation Summer Program Brochure for details. To ensure availability, register for programs soon!

Refuse Collection & Recycling - For those residents in the Wheatland Refuse District, the Refuse Collection & Recycling web page contains a service schedule, including a holiday schedule for the entire year.

Historian - The Town of Wheatland has a rich and interesting history. See a great summary of our Town's heritage, including many interesting period photos. The Town Historian always welcomes your inquiries.

Linda Dobson - Town Supervisor

My professional experiences have been in the areas of Public Health Nursing. I recently retired from a department head position in a local 565 bed skilled nursing facility. Professionally and personally, my philosophy has always been one of “giving back to the community”.

I look forward to using my experiences, knowledge and insight to continue working with the Town Board and constituents to help take our community in a positive direction into the future. Our team strives to be efficient, cost effective, responsive and relevant to the needs of our home owners, businesses, other governments, civic groups and education entities. It takes communication skills, knowledge, and the combined effort of everyone to keep our community an attractive place to live, work, raise a family, and do business.
