December Newsletter

Merry Christmas!!!

Can you believe how much snow Georgia had?  I was scheduled to be in Lafayette and Trenton, GA for that weekend.  Weather predictions said snow would be south of Atlanta with ZERO chance up north.  Well.... Haha!      At least we didn't lose power.

We only got about 2-3 inches.  Kudos to my students who were willing to support me and ride in the snow and cold.  No one trailered in or out during the bad weather, all horses had already come in the day before for lessons and stayed overnight.  We made the most of it, had fun in the snow, and all lessons were truly very productive!!!

Spent Thanksgiving Camping Lakeside

Emmett and I spent the weekend after Thanksgiving camping in south Alabama with my brother and his 3 boys.  We hardly ever get to see them, they lead such a busy life.  Seems everyone does these days!  We enjoyed the time with them and the weather was spectacular.  Much fun was had and many good memories made. My version of camping is sleeping in the living quarters of my horse trailer!

My Fall schedule was very busy.  That's great!  I do love my job.  I am working on my 2018 schedule these days.  If you are interested in organizing a clinic with me, please feel free to contact me.

If you are looking to ride with me, the calendar on my website is usually up to date.  You can see where you might be able to catch up with me.  I teach at many lovely venues.  Again, feel free to contact me with any questions or for scheduling.

Student and dear friend, Nancy Conley is the Superstar of the Western Dressage World!!!  On her lovely paint mare, Truly Unsurpassed, she has now been awarded the WDAA Lifetime Achievement Silver Medalist.  She ranks number 1 in the World on this horse.  This pair is also USEF Level 2 Horse of the Year.  She is 33 points away from reaching the Gold Level.  They will begin showing Level 3 this coming year.  Hard work with a goal in mind along with a regular training program pays off!

Pictured below on her other horse Dante, who is now on to a new home out west, she is ranked 8th in the nation with WDAA and is 4th for USEF Level 1 Horse of the Year. Best of luck to Dante and his new owner.

I'm honored that Nancy has chosen me as her instructor.  She is a superb horsewoman who has done me proud. She is also a great friend, intelligent, multi talented, humble, and fun!
