- ISID Hackathon Success Story Part 2 -

In our last newsletter, we talked about Footprint, the grand prize winner of our first Hackathon held back in November 2016. Now, we would like to introduce you to another one of the highly successful programs developed at our first Hackathon. Say hello to Puddle Predict!

Developed in just 24-hours, Puddle Predict aims to employ malaria predictive models using real-time precipitation and temperature data to predict the incidence of malaria. Puddle Predict will be integrated into the Uganda malaria visual dashboard, which is currently under development.

At the Hackathon, they won a ProMED award and were awarded the ProMED Follow-Up Award (a combined total of $1,250 USD in funding)! They are on track to launch their program and begin changing the landscape of malaria outbreaks in Uganda. Congratulations to the Puddle Predict team and all of their hard work!
