REMINDER:  Summit Club Check Presentation Tonight!

Since the launch of McKamy Robotics the Summit Club of Flower Mound has been an annual sponsor.  Tonight at 7pm they will be presenting a check for $500 to MRC again!  It will be presented at their meeting held at Salerno's restaurant located at 3407 Long Prairie Rd, Flower Mound (972) 539-9534.   

As shared all MRC students are welcome and encouraged to come for the check presentation. Please wear your MRC t-shirt.  We know there is a McKamy Band Concert, McKamy Soccer game, etc but love to have all available! Special thank you to our MRC Student Officers and to teams Battlebotz and Starminatorz for bringing their robots to show the Summit Club leaders.  A picture will be taken of all who attend and last year it was in the local paper. 

Membership 2017-2018 Update

We already have 16 of our eligible 19 current MRC students returning for 2017-2018! Last week at our New Member Interest Meeting, held for current McKamy students, we had another 16 students join with amazing parents ready to support next year as Parent Mentors!  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The club is off to a great start before the summer.  We were in awe of the growth of our students sharing their experiences in MRC over the years and presenting to a room full of students, parents and siblings!  Thank you to all the presenters and other students who came to support the future of MRC.

Now we need to elect our incoming McKamy Robotics Booster Club Board and approve our Preliminary Budget, so team formation and transition for the next chapter of McKamy Robotics can begin!  Parents of our student MRC members are the voting MRBC General Membership. As we have shared with the returning students, the new students and all families we must have a MRBC President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer for McKamy Robotics Club to exist in LISD.  We already have the full support of McKamy Principal and McKamy Sponsor.  That election is done at our annual May General Membership Meeting, which as we have been sharing is next Thursday, May 11th at 6:30pm followed by our EOY Family Celebration.

We can have up to 10 teams for a total of 60 students in MRC at McKamy.  The incoming board will decide about a New Member Interest Meeting in the fall.

Officer Nominations!

The Nominating Committee will post the Nominating Slate 5 days before next Thursdays General Membership Meeting.  So MRBC Nominating Committee needs your candidate nominations ASAP to follow up on! You can self-nominate yourself or nominate someone else to any or all positions!  Link to details on positions and resources in place for MRBC.

McKamy Robotics End of Year Important Dates!

Thursday, May 11th in McKamy Cafeteria

• 6:30pm - Annual MRBC General Membership Meeting (MRBC Officer Elections and Approval of 2017-2018 Preliminary Budget)
• 7pm or Immediately Following - MRC Annual EOY Family Celebration - Your MRC students will review this year - including a fun slide show, FMHS Robotics leaders will be coming, we will have pizza, drinks, cake and after the gym will be open for fun for the whole family!  A separate e-mail will be sent for families to RSVP and give their pizza preference!
