Past OI International President Don Sievers was born in Cape Girardeau, MO has been married to his wife Anita for 56 years. Don and Anita have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Don will be speaking about "The Road from New Member to OI President".
Don joined Optimist in 1977 and was his club president from 1982-83, he was his district Gov. from 1993-94. He became the International Vice Presiden in 1999-2000 and was an International Field Representitive from 1995- Present. Don als was an International Convention Chair in 2002-03 and the International President in 2008-09 and was a Chaired member of te Optimist International Board of Directors in 2009-10. He built the Jackson Optimist Sports Club in 2009 and was involved in building 10 clubs over his years as a member. He is currently serving on the Optimist International Foundation Board of Directors.
Darren Facen is a native of St. Louis Mo., where he was raised by his grandparents living on the North Side of St. Louis. Darren will be speaking on "The Power of Optimism".
Darren attended Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School where he graduated in 1984. After graduation he joined and served in the Mo. Army National Guard and later went to college, graduating from Tarkio College of Tarkio Mo. in 1989 with a BA in Psychology.
Darren is the father of 4 wonderful children, and husband of Evangelist Terri Facen his
lovely wife of 25 years. During his career, Darren has devoted the past 25 years working with severely emotionally disturbed children and their families to provide behavioral coaching and support in various psychiatric and substance abuse treatment environments and community support systems. He currently serves as the Eastern Region Director of Substance Abuse & Addiction Recovery Services for Pathways Community Behavioral Health.
Darren has served 20 years in ministry, first as a worship leader and Minister of Music.He was licensed as a Minister in 2000 and in 2009 completed ordination as an Elder a tPower House Ministries in Marshall Mo.In the winter of 2010 Darren and his family were inspired by God to relocate to Rolla, Mo. where he continued his work with children as the Campus Director of Boys & GirlsTown. In the spring of 2010 Darren and his family joined New Dimensional Christian Ministry of Rolla, Mo. where he served as the Minister of Music and Asst. Pastor for 4 years.
Optimist International Vice President Charles (Chuck) W. Davis Jr. has 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grand children. Chuck was his club president in 2003-04 and ub 2013-14. He was the Honor Club President in 2012-13 and the Ohio District Distiguished Lt. Gov. in 2008-09 and the District Outstanding & Distiguished Lt. Gov. in 2008-09. From 2010-11 Chuck was the Ohio District Distiguished Governer and in 2013 he was put the Ohio District Hall of Fame. He is currently the Optimist International Vice President for 2016-17. Chuck will have an opportunity to speak on behalf of OI about the business meetings. We are lucky to have Chuck be our guest in attendance.
