Greetings from Bridging Solutions!

This installment of “A Bridge Moment” provides a copy of a magazine article that was published in the May 2016 Florida Engineering Society Journal. It was written by Ralph Verrastro, PE and is titled Bridging Responsibilities. The article describes the common management and coordination practices followed in the design and construction of land development bridges and it offers some best practice recommendations for improving the process. Rolando Corsa, PE, Project Manager at Bridging Solutions, attended the 2016 FDOT Design Training Expo earlier this month. The training expo’s theme was, “Innovative Solutions for Tomorrow’s Transportation Needs” and was held at the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort Oceanwalk Village. The Expo focused on the Department’s continued pursuit of innovation and efficiency, ranging in topics from the use of Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) systems for bridge inspections and the introduction of the Florida Slab Beam Superstructure Standards Package.
