We hope you all had an amazing winter/summer solstice. We were honoured to be asked to run a healing lodge workshop on the weekend in Elsmore just a few minutes from Inverell NSW, hosted by Katrina Shailer. During the workshop the participants learnt how to build a teepee style sweat lodge and how to prepare the sacred fire to heat the stones in.
We began on the Friday evening with a sacred fire ceremony and drumming circle where we all got to meet each other and state our intent for the rest of the weekend. Congratulations to all the participants who truly stepped up to the occasion, showing courage and focus. For us it was the first we have run for awhile and once again it brought home to us the importance of community and sacred ceremony that connects us to Mother Earth, her cycles and all there is.
A huge thank you to Original elder Colin Isaacs and Scott for the smoking ceremony and welcome to country. We were so blessed to be honoured with their presence and ceremony. A huge thank you goes to Katrina for her amazing hospitality and all the work she put in for the workshop to run so smoothly.
