I am at a loss for words, my newsletter is a little late this month. I had held true to getting them out by the 5th of each month...until now. |

Being late is something that I struggle with morally, I value my time, other people's time, so typically I arrive 15 minutes early to things, allowing myself plenty of time to get to the airport, take a seat at the gate, relax. I give myself the time, I give the time to others and so on. |

Surrendering to the notion that I cannot always be perfect and being kind to myself about it is another way of gifting myself time. I'm giving myself permission to be dignifiedly mediocre, and wonderfully human. |

*pictured above is my friend's duck Ginger, isn't she dreamy? *Poem above from "Fuck, YES!: A Guide to the Happy Acceptance of Everything Please forgive me for being late, but I feel like maybe I am perfectly on time because I am still here. Ethan Nichtern sums it up nicely, "Practice does not make perfect. Practice makes us wise and skillful enough to see human perfection as the harmful myth it truly is." |

My teacher, Ewa Josefsson sometime ago in Miami first introduced me to dream yoga. Recently I became more curious about dreams, my connection to the dream world, and how dreamlike our reality is. It felt as if I were on a boat/dreaming during these earthquakes, for example. Dream and sleep yoga practice dives deep into our concept of time. Instead of being on time, you be in time: "It is in time that we live out our ordinary lives. When we know how to be in time, the practice unfolds by itself." Being in time is the unity of emptiness and clarity. |

One of the major underpinnings of dream yoga practice is integrating regular habits that promote awareness of the present moment to help you lucid dream. The book says to visualize your inhales drawing in pure relaxing, cleansing energies, and imagine exhales expelling all obstacles. This simple yet powerful visualization, has become an integral part of my daily teachings and personal practices. I've had Hatha teachers tell me to picture a colored vapor or smoke while drawing-in inhales and another color for your exhales as a centering visualization. Basically you spiritually vape, which could be much more appealing. |
