Thank you to those of you who have taken the time to read last month's newsletter and view last month's virtual meeting. It is our hope that doing more online will be a convenient way for the team to stay informed about company happenings without having to take more time away from your families by requiring mandatory meetings at the office or another location. <img height="22" src="https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5e9922_7fe0c22151324d13926ffbc0214544c8.png_256" width="22"> |

Chanhassen Reflections Sister Act at the Chanhassen on Saturday, February 17th was definitely a musical experience. Nearly all of the performance was in song-form -- a true musical. Twelve CHC teammembers were able to come out and enjoy the show together sitting in the director's box. Compassionate Home Care even got a shout-out on stage! Thank you to those of you who were able to attend. It was fun afternoon of team building and listening to music. |

Some Highlights (Keep them Coming) Each month, we are hoping to highlight some of the big things happening around the company. Those things can be funny, disguisting, interesting, or heart-warming. Here are some examples to get us started: Compassioante Home Care, we have had some BIG things going on in February! - Cindy and Carrie have been busy organizing for their clients (while also trying to clean around a constant flow of mouse droppings, as much as possible).
- Jolene has been busy doing piles and piles of dishes for one of her clients while trying to help another client get a cockroach problem under control.
- Amy got to attend some very interesting appointments with her client. All I can say is, just be thankful.
- Tammie was able to take over ILS services for one of her clients and immediately helped her find a new friend.
- Miranda and Darian worked with their client to try to find a perfect new home for some of her fosters.
- Vicki was able to help a client get ready to move, and the client loves Vicki so much that she would like Vicki to move with her! In fact, we think she might just be too good at what she does, several of her clients would like her to move right on in with them!
- Charles has been diligently helping a client who recently underwent surgery. He has been doing split shifts and helping her to feel more comfortable recovering at home while also taking on a new client who has many needs.

Health in Healthcare There have been many, if not most, of our healthcare workers who have been out with illness whether it be severe colds/sinus infections and/or the flu. I wanted to take a minute to provide some tips for staying healthy as we near the last few months, yes months, of flu season. The first thing to remember to do is to wash your hands constantly. As professionals in the healthcare business, I hope all of you know this, but want to be sure to emphasize this. Secondly, it is important to take some type of multivitamin. Your immune system may be weakened during the winter months because fresh food is hard to come by, it is expensive, and we are stuck indoors trapped in a sea of germs within our homes and our clients' homes; and we know some of their homes are anything but sanitary. A good multivitamin is going to do wonders for you. Additionally, it is important to eat healthily. You are able to fight off the beginnings of illnesses if you are eating a well-balanced diet with nutrition that your body needs. Also, dare I say it, exercise--exercise also helps to boost your immune system and helps to fight off illness more effectively. In fact, whenever I feel like I am starting to get sick, I push myself harder in my workouts, and I sweat more. As Amy has said to me, "A body in motion stays in motion." I truly believe this. Knock on wood, I typically find that I cut my illnesses (or initial symptoms of illness) down to just a day or so when I stay active, I always like to say that sweat the illness out. It's not always easy to get a workout in when I don't feel like doing anything but flopping down on the couch under a blanket, but I always know it will help to kick the illness's butt if I sweat a little. I hope that everyone stays healthy for the next few months as I just heard on the news that flu season is projected to last through May this year. Ugh! |

| | Client Relations Team: Amy Cornelius Amy has been willing and able to step in to the role of ILS Director even though when she took on that role, it was very undefined. In fact, there wasn't even a job description yet. Amy has created the role, and she has done so while also balancing her work with clients and helping Jan and Stacey with anything and everything that needs to get done. Amy started off as a part-time care staff working as a homemaker and ILS Trainer, but as CHC continued to grow, Amy was able to grow with the agency; she began working as a full-time caregiver, and quickly moved to the ILS Director. Amy is extremely encouraging to the ILS care team as she works hard to check in with them and encourage them in their progress with clients. She has made it a priority to learn about each and every ILS client and the individual members of the care team, too. Amy has been an invaluable part of the Compassionate Home Care Client Relations Team! | | |
|
| | Homemaking Care Staff: Lori O'Connor It is fitting that Lori is our February homemaking care staff employee of the month as she was officially Compassionate Home Care’s first employee. Lori has continued to show her flexibility and willingness to be a team player throughout the last 11 months of operation. She has been able to build rapport with her clients quickly, and her clients are very attached to her. In fact, as Lori has demonstrated her dedication and care for her clients' homes, several have decided that they want her to be their ILS Trainer, too. As a result, Lori has been able to move into some greater responsibilities for her clients as they have trusted her consistent compassion and thorough caregiving. Lori has a huge heart for helping others, and she truly embodies the mission of Compassionate Home Care in that she provides the best possible care to clients in order to allow them to reside in their own homes comfortably and safely. | | |

| | ILS Trainer: Paula Peterson-Michael Paula is celebrating her ONE-YEAR anniversary with Compassionate Home Care this March, which is ALSO the one-year anniversary of Compassionate Home Care taking on its first clients. Paula came on board while Compassioante Home Care was in the building stages of development. She was hoping to be a full-time employee, and she was patient as clients and hours were added to her schedule. She began as a full-time homemaker/companion caregiver, but within just a few months, she was transitioned to an ILS Trainer as she notied a great need for this service. Paula is known for her patience and her ability to listen to her clients and their needs. In addition, Paula's clients know that they are important to her, and because of this, they feel safe with her. Paula is flexible and willing and able to transition to new clients and new situations as needed, and she has done this several times with just a short notice. She is dependable and compassionate, and she is an integral part of the Compassionate Home Care team. Paula has even popped in to orientation on occasion to help new caregivers learn more about what to expect as they embark on learning more about home healthcare. | | |
|
| | ICLS Caregiver: Christine Daly Christine recently took on the role of ICLS Specialist, and she literally dove into this new role head first She started her first day back by attending an intake. Then, within just a couple of days, Christine was thrown into the field working almost full-time for several of Compassionate Home Care's ICLS clients. She has a spunky and a witty sense of humor that helps her clients to feel comfortable with her. In addition, she is persuasive, which is a critical trait in ICLS. Compassionate Home Care is excited to have Christine and is looking forward to having more ICLS employees who can take over for the numerous clients with which she is working so she can support and mentor all of the ICLS caregivers in the specialist role. Compassionate Home Care has valued Christine's flexibility and willingness to take on all of the challenges and obsticles presented to her, and she has done so with a can-do attitutude, and a positive outlook. | | |

CONGRATULATIONS TO JANUARY'S WINNER Thank you to those of you who took time out of your busy lives to view the virtual meeting. Many home healthcare companies require their employees to schedule their lives around mandatory meetings, which require them to drive to the office. We wanted to be mindful of your busy lives and make our meeting virtual. Please take the time to view the virtual meetings as they contain important information about our services and updated policies. Congratulations to our January drawing winner, Carrie! Carrie will win a $25 giftcard! | | |

Thank You Thank you to everyone at Compassionate Home Care for your dedication to your clients and your clients' needs. We know this is not always the most glamorous job, and we know that there are days that you just want to hit the snooze button and go back to bed, but we appreciate your resilience and your willingness to work with your clients with their various quirks, idiosyncrasies, and, let's just face it, annoyances. Because of you and your compassion, dedication, and care, your clients are able to continue living an independent lifestyle in their own homes. You and the work you do does make a difference, and though your clients may not always show their appreciation directly to you, we receive numerous phone calls letting us know how much you are appreciated. Keep working hard; we truly value your selflessness and your dedication to helping others. |
