March 24th 2017 is a day we will never forget, after 4years of hard work we finally became
Charlies-Angel-Centre Foundation
REGISTERED CHARITY NUMBER 1172233
We all began 2017 feeling very optimistic about the year ahead for the charity. Little did we know that the first 3 months were to be so busy and so amazing.
We have been to several meetings within the Nhs and they have proved to be really positive for us and means we are now getting our bereavement packs out to many more families. We are also receiving more referrals from the hospitals and from outside agencies.
March 31st saw us launch our Counsellor database. One of our aims has always been to be able to provide bereavement counselling to families across the country. This is now becoming a reality. We have now got counsellors volunteering their time to us from several areas across the UK. This will continue to grow as more counsellors come on board. We think this is a huge step forward for the charity and will enable us to help and support so many more families.
Carrie was nominated in The Sun newspaper for the Hero mum of the year, her story was reported in the paper and it was a very proud moment seeing her acknowledged and having Charlie’s story told in a mainstream tabloid
Two of our youngest supporters, Rhiann (10) & Amy (8), have been signed up to take part in the Radical Run to be held at Temple Newsam in April. They love helping to raise money in their cousin’s memory. It would be great if they could reach their target of £500
Our 2017 Autumn Charity Ball has now been confirmed and will be taking place on Saturday 16th September at The Hunslet Club, Leeds. We are very excited for the evening after the success of last years
Please sign and share our petition calling for a coordinated package of care for all families upon discharge from hospital following the death of their baby or child. No one should ever have to go through it alone, help us make that change
Many bereaved parents and families feel that only others who have experienced the death of their son/daughter grandchild/niece/nephew can offer real understanding, for bereaved families to meet others, gain support and share your experience.
