THANK YOU

Merry Christmas and thank you for being a part of my 2016.  If you want to know more about what I did this year, please read on (or you can just look at the pictures). If you don't, I'll never know and you'll still have my best wishes for the holidays and a happy and healthy 2017.

with love,

Polly.

November 2016:  The glorious cast, crew and creative team of the staged reading of the New Musical of "Far From the Madding Crowd" at Signature Theatre.  Directed by Hunter Foster with musical direction by Paul Masse.  It was a treat to work on such great material with these wonderful new colleagues and friends.

I spent the summer and the fall working with The Mint Off-Broadway in a wonderful play, "A Day by the Sea". It was recently named Best revival of a modern play by The Wall Street Journal and I was lucky to receive some lovely reviews. Never fear though, I shan't get a big head.  The New York Times might have sung my praises but my mother on her third trip to see the play patted my arm and told me I was "getting better".

Accolades are lovely but family, friends and colleagues are more important.  I was overwhelmed with support.  It became a running joke in the dressing room that I had someone in the house almost every night of the run to see the play (including people my parents had met on their sailing to New York on the Queen Mary).  The flowers, cards, letters, champagne, etc. are wonderful but, cliché as this may sound, I'd trade them all to just play the part again.

Thank you to Jean Ann Garrish for writing "Composing Life".  She wrote Janis with me in mind.  I have no idea why! It is a comedic mockumentary following struggling artists in the city.
