Climate Change Educator Training

On February 25th, the Climate Science Alliance, SEALIFE, and the Fleet Center hosted an educator training on "Bringing Climate Change Messages to Life for Students and Visitors."  This training showcased a number of speakers, from varying informal and formal education backgrounds, that shared best practices and techniques for integrating climate science into curriculum and programming.

Climate Kids Brings Six Weeks of Programming to PB Elementary!

Climate Kids spent six weeks at Pacific Beach Elementary to provide each and every student with three sessions of Climate Kids programming in the form of hands-on science, art, and storytelling.  Kids left with knowledge to take care of the planet and protect the ocean.

Climate Science Alliance Area at San Diego EarthFair 2017

The Climate Science Alliance in partnership with the Resilient Coastlines Project will be hosting the first ever Climate Science Alliance Activity Area at the Balboa Park Earth Fair on April 23rd.  The area will feature 20 local organizations involved in climate change and ocean research and education, a Climate Kids Activity Guide, a climate change themed art exhibit, a community art project, and performances by local musicians and storytellers.  We will be located next to the Children's Area.  We hope you stop by and learn how you can be part of the solution!

San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative

The Alliance would like to recognize the San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative (SDRCC) in our partner spotlight.  SDRCC is a network for public agencies that serve the San Diego region to share expertise, leverage resources, and advance comprehensive solutions to faciliate climate change planning.  SDRCC has had many recent accomplishments including a feature in the Georgetown Climate Center Report and recognition as Member of the Month for the CA Coastal Resilience Network.

 
SD Regional Climate Collaborative

Earth Discovery Institute

The Alliance has chosen to recognize Earth Discovery Institute (EDI) in our Partner Spotlight. EDI’s mission is to support innovative and effective environmental education and outreach programs that are integrated with scientifically-driven land conservation. In doing so, EDI fosters environmental stewardship in the underserved communities of East and South San Diego County.
