NEW Breastfeeding report from The Lancet

This clearly shows how vital and important breastfeeding is for nutrition, growth and wellbeing. Yet, we do not have an indicator on breastfeeding. Please contact your country delegations nationally to ask why they aren’t demanding this! Access the Lancet series here (you may need to create a login and profile for free in order to access)

Learning Routes programme: The first steps, A letter from Cecilia

Dear all,

I am happy to be part of the SUN Civil Society Network! During 2016 and 2017 I will be coordinating a cross-learning program called "Learning Route". The learning route program has been designed responding to the needs highlighted by the CSN Movement: it is your Learning Program.

The "learning route" is part of the broader SUN CSN cross-learning strategy and aims to facilitate exchanges among (at least) 14 CSAs (South-East Africa region and Asia) to learn about each others' good practices, to put into practice learning and at the same time enhance network collaboration.

The program will include much more than stand-alone exchange visits, we will get together often to build our learning step by step, we will support each other when it is time to put tinto practice what we have learned and we will all ensure that the benefits of the learning will get to as many actors as possible.

The program will be implemented in collaboration with the Emergency Nutrition Network and PROCASUR. PROCASUR will facilitate the methodological implementation of the exchanges and the systematization of the best practices. The learning route methodology is a Knowledge Management tool aimed at promoting knowledge sharing of innovations. It was created by Procasur in 1996 and validated in Latin America, Africa and Asia with the support of IFAD and other partners, including the SUN Movement in 2014. The SUN CSN initiative is funded by the Children Investment Fund.

We will organize a webex meeting soon to present and discuss the program objectives, methodologies and key events.

In the mean time if you have questions please write to me!
