McKamy Robotics February Student Meeting!

 

Theme:  TSA Countdown!

 

Reminder we have our monthly student meeting Thursday February 11th from 4:15pm - 5:30pm in the McKamy Library. Parents and Parent Mentors are welcome and encouraged to attend.

 

Meeting Overview:

  • Celebrate our 1st VEX Competition here at McKamy Saturday!!
  • TSA - Did you complete your Google Form on what TSA INDIVIDUAL Entry you are submitting for TSA Region 11 Competition on March 5th? FORM ONLINE DUE 2/11/16 docs.google.com/forms/d/1YRtiAqVmXj76c0eCzvQ6wNBRJ9enL8lHpfxrvZGQmuQ/viewform
  • TSA VEX Competition - All 10 Teams Participating and McKamy paying the registration fee!  Reminder - TSA VEX is Programming (1 minute) and Robot (1 minute) Skills Challenges
  • TSA Entries may be turned in today or Monday, February 22nd (MUST HAVE TSA COVER SHEET COMPLETED and TURNED IN WITH EACH ENTRY)
    • Robotics Lab 8:00am - 8:40am
    • Robotics Lab 4:00pm - 5:45pm

McKamy Robotics Club Hosts It's First VEX Competition at McKamy!

McKamy Brings Home 2 Awards!

Saturday, February 6th

 

McKamy Robotics Club brings home two coveted awards from Saturday's "McKamy Middle School VEX Nothing But Net" Qualifier Competition! McKamy's robotic teams competed with and against alliances with a total of 24 middle school teams from Dallas/Fort Worth area, Greenville, Houston and Austin. 

 

At the end of the 8 rounds of Qualifying Matches 6 of the top 10 teams were from McKamy:

 

3rd - 8909A Robot Destroyers

4th - 8909D Sa-BOT-age

5th - 8909J TEX VEX

6th - 8909F Dunkin Robots

7th - 8909B Vectors

8th - 8909H Golden Botz

 

The two VEX awards the club received are on display in the front office before moving to the robotics lab. The awards are:

 

Tournament Champions - 8909G Tera-Bots (Alliance Win)

Design Award - 8909G Vectors (Team Win)

 

Special note that 8909J TEX VEX and 8909D Sa-BOT-age made it to the finals on an alliance together wtih 6364C Hudson Hawks from Garland!
