Monday, July 24

 

The rock painting craze is here to stay! At 1pm, Rock Your Universe at Seminole Community Library where children of all ages are invited to paint a celestial rock to keep and one to hide in celebration of the upcoming solar eclipse. All participants will also receive a pair of solar viewing glasses. The event is free but registration is required. For more rock painting fun, check out Gulfport Rocks! at Gulfport Public Library beginning at 3pm.

There are only two weeks left to take advantage of summer movie specials. See Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Chip and Penguins of Madagascar at Cobb Tyrone Luxury 10 for free or Happy Feet Two and Cats & Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore for $1 at Regal Park Place. All movies start at 10am. Ready for some baseball? It's $2 Kids Tuesday at Tropicana Field. Tickets to see the Rays take on the Orioles are just $2 for kids 14 and under with the purchase of an adult ticket. Hot dogs are also $2.

Wednesday, July 26

 

Celebrate the end of Summer Reading Adventures at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library with a Friendship Celebration Dance Party! Starting at 10:30 am, there will be singing and dancing along with yummy treats and learning activities. A special certificate and reward will be given to all program participants. At 2pm, see Matt Edmonds and his traveling wildlife show Wonders of Nature at Seminole Community Library's Wonderful Wednesday. All ages are welcome!

Thursday, July 27

 

Make it a day at Gulfport Public Library! Toddler Storytime begins at 10:30am and is followed immediately by a Community Playdate at 11am. Stay for a Free Kids Lunch from noon to 3pm, Children's Ukelele Class at 1pm or Pre-School Storytime at 3:30pm. Continue the night in Gulfport for the opening of PLAY Performing Arts' Beauty and the Beast, Jr. at Catherine A. Hickman Theater. Tickets are available here.

Join The Foundation for Sustainable Families for Haircuts from the Heart from 11am until 2pm. Basic back-to-school hair cuts and trims will be offered to children ages 18 and under at no cost. School supplies and school uniforms will also be distributed while supplies last.
