I hope this email finds you well! Many of you have been asking what I've been up to, or what I think about shows that are opening (or about to open) on Broadway. Some of you haven't, but I'm really proud of the work I'm doing at Playbill—now as the Senior Features Editor—and want to share it with the people who are most important to me. (Don't be fooled by the "mass send" looks of this email; it's just a pretty way to send without BCCing all of you.) Below are some highlights of Facebook Livestreams (Robert DeNiro! Danny DeVito!) and written features and how you can find more—if you're so inclined. Thank you for always supporting me!
Love and all that jazz,
Ruthie
LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET
At Playbill, I co-host our Facebook Livestreams from the opening night red carpet of EVERY BROADWAY OPENING. I've been able to interview stage stars I'm obsessed with (Spencer Liff, Ben Platt) and stars to the masses (Glenn Close, Robert DeNiro, Josh Groban). We even met Danny DeVito (who is quite the flirt) at the opening of Arthur Miller's The Price on Thursday. These live carpets are not easy, but they're one of my favorite things to do at Playbill. It would mean the world to me for you to support and watch live—you can even do it from your couch! Just follow Playbill on Facebook and you'll get notifications when we go live. Watch back on our past streams here.
TUNE IN THURSDAY, MARCH 23 FOR OUR NEXT ONE: MISS SAIGON.
CALENDAR OF UPCOMING LIVESTREAMS
March 26 - Sweat April 3 - Amélie the musical April 5 - Present Laughter April 6 - War Paint
WRITING WRITING WRITING
I've also been writing a ton, both for the Playbills you receive in the theatre (go see a show!) and for Playbill.com. I don't expect you to read everything I ever wrote, but I've picked a few of my recent favorites and flagged them by what you might like:
