6 Tips for Strong Writing

Here are some handy writing tips from the video "6 Copywriting Tips for Beginners."

1. Grab your audience’s attention with a strong headline.

The headline is what readers see first. If they are intrigued with it, they will continue reading the rest of your work. Write lots of headlines until you find one that will catch the audience’s interest.

2. Know your readers.

Know their needs, likes and dislikes. Then you can tailor your writing to appeal to them. If your writing interests your audience, they will stick around for more.

3. Make specific claims in your writing.

General claims don’t give enough information and don’t grab your audience’s interest. Let your audience know how your topic will specifically benefit them.

4. Include proof or evidence to back up any claims you make.

This builds your audience’s confidence in what you are claiming. You can use testimonials, statistics, numbers, etc.

5. Tell your audience what they should do next.

Asking your audience to act on the information you gave them will carry on the impact of your writing.

6. Add urgency to your writing.

Encourage your audience to act as soon as possible.

NAD Compassion Weekend July 9-10

This year, the North American Division has set aside the second weekend of every month as a time for Adventist members, churches, and schools to serve their local communities. The aim is to follow Jesus’ example of serving others to show them God’s love and compassion. The dates for this month’s service weekend are July 9-10.
