Thank you to everyone who was able to make it the meeting on Tuesday. Despite the weather it was a great turnout.
AWARENESS. AWARENESS. AWARENESS
With just four weeks left to go we have to make sure that as many people as possible know about this, and that as many people as possible respond to the consultation. Rather than tens or hundreds of responses, we need to be in the thousands. That's going to need a lot of awareness!
Do remember, of course, that each member of your household can respond independantly in the consultation.
Please download our poster, if you have not done so already. It's on the home page of the web site at www.saveoldfarmpark.org. Pop one in the window of your home, in your car, or if you know any local shops then ask if they'll display in their windows. We've found the car works well - we've been approached a few times asking what's happening.
And do Facebook, Tweet - or even just talk - to as many people as you can. Family, friends, work colleagues. If you know of anyone in the media spotlight who could promote us, please do approach them!
A suggestion was made that we should organise a march - we're still looking into that and will let you know.
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS
A number of people came forward at the meeting on Tuesday to offer their assistance, both for leaflet campaigning over the next four weeks but also longer term as park of the proposed Friends of Old Farm Park group.
If you can spare some time, particularly in the coming weeks, with leaflet distribution in the area please email us at saveoldfarmpark1@gmail.com. We're looking to leaflet local homes, cars, supermarkets and the station.
The Friends group will be more long-term, to ensure that whatever happens the park is protected for future generations, and that any proposed enhancements are in keeping with the wishes of the local residents.
THE CONSULTATION
If you haven't responded yet, you'll find everything you need here to respond to the consultation: www.saveoldfarmpark.org/#!consultation/aqi68
Best wishes, and thank you for all your support!
