The Journey to Self, Community and Sustainability
The month of July has seen a deepening into the leadership programme. The three strands of self, community and sustainability have each been activated as participants have explored their personal passion and purpose through a variety of forms: movement, dialogue, and art; they have worked practically with their hands building wood saving stoves, compost toilets, and more. And the elements of community have been explored and tested as internal challenges have surfaced and had to be dealt with - sometimes gracefully, sometimes less so. Despite the challenges, the expansion of the village to include its new members (23 leadership participants) is rich and rewarding. This is how and where we learn - in community, in work, in inquiry.
Planning opportunities to learn with us
Coming up in the near and medium term future are beautiful opportunities to learn with us:
- Oasis Game and training: October 22-November 1;
- Learning Festival: Nov 16-20, co-hosted by the leadership programme, bringing together community partners and local NGOs in joint sharing around sustainable community.
- Kufunda Learning Camp is re-scheduled for July 17 - 24, 2016. It will be a lived immersion into a new story - an inter-generational deep dive into how life in community can be lived.
We will be posting more on the Learning Festival and the Learning Journey shortly.
