Nevada Day: Bowers Mansion DYP

Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation will be partnering with Washoe County to bring you a special Discover Your Parks Walk at Bowers Mansion at 4:30 PM, Friday October 27th!

This Nevada Day walk will take you on a historical journey as you step back in time and learn about gold, ghost towns and the wild west. We will start with a walk around the park, learning about how the mining boom in our area was vital to Nevada becoming a state, followed by a tour through the Bowers Mansion where we will get an in depth look at the story of the Bowers Family.

Don't miss out on this exciting walk through.

REI Trail Day: Thank You TMPF Volunteers

On October 1st, over 70 volunteers joined our effort to restore trails and remove invasive species at Hidden Valley Regional Park.  Volunteers hiked heavy tools up to the ridgetop, where under the careful eye of experienced crew leaders, improved trails devestated by erosion and installed a french drain that will improve the level of safety on one of the park's most popular trails.  Elsewhere in the park, volunteers removed debris from trails and collected over 20 extra large bags of invasive species.

We would like thank everyone that showed up and got their hands dirty! Without our hardworking volunteers, none of this would be possible.  You've made a big difference on our trails and the community has already noticed the change.  We would also like to thank REI for their generous grant that allowed us to make this all happen.

Biggest Little Dog Park

Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is partnering with the Biggest Little Dog Park Coalition and the City of Reno to help revitalize the Re-trac in downtown Reno. The City has kindly budgeted $75,000 to this park, but we still need to raise $125,000 to make this park a reality.
