Looking for fun things to do with kids in the St. Petersburg area this week? Here are some of the exciting events featured in our weekly schedule and on our calendar.

Monday, January 23

 

Start the week with The Pout-Pout Fish Puppet Show performed by the Junior League of St. Petersburg at the St. Pete Main Library. The free show starts at 10:30am. Later, it's Children's Movie Night at St. Pete Beach Public Library. The Secret Life of Pets begins at 6pm Light refreshments will be served.

Tuesday, January 24

 

At 9:30am, learn a new language at Largo Public Library- Baby Sign Language! This interactive signing class teaches you how to include signs naturally while interacting with your child through daily routines, play, stories, and music. After dinner, head to Johnson Community Library for a FREE Family Magic Show with comedy magician Elliott Smith.

 

Wednesday, January 25

 

Take kids ages 3 to 5 to Preschool Reading Adventures at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library at 10am or S.P.A.R.K. Pre-Readers at West Community Library at 11am. Do you have a child interested in cheerleading? Registration for All American Youth Cheerleading will be held at St. Pete Beach Community Center from 6pm until 7:30pm for ages 5 and up. 

Thursday, January 26

 

It's a busy day at Gulfport Public Library! Toddler Story Time begins at 10am and will be followed by a community playdate at 11am where families can meet and play. After school, children in grades kindergarten through fifth and their caregivers can relax and play at Kids Yoga starting at 3:30pm.

Friday, January 27 

 

Great Explorations members are invited to explore art, language and music with children ages 1 to 3 at Terrific Tots beginning at 10am. After dark, explore the stars at a free weekly show at the St. Petersburg College Planetarium and Observatory. The Stars of Winter begins at both 7pm and 8:15pm. Children ages five and up are welcome to attend.

Saturday, January 28

 

There's lots to do at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve today:

10am- Sounds of Nature

12pm- Colors of the Season

2pm- Family Nature Club

 

Don't forget to reserve your spot with Silhouette artist Erik Johnson at Growing Up! 

Sunday, January 29

 

It's another Sunday @ The Morean! From 1pm until 3pm, families are invited to attend this free, open-format art and clay drop-in class. Clay and tools are provided. It is not recommended to bring children under age three.
