InfoComm Industry & Technology Forums are set to heighten your knowledge on the role of AV in interior design. Design with AVs – Understanding and Using Controls will touch on how AV and integrated technology can be incorporated into the overall design. Find out how you can help your clients future-proof their properties with technology, and how using controls can achieve automation through integration. Get a clear picture of how technology can benefit the designer, the client and the user. In Design with AVs – Tomorrow's Trends, Today's Pitfall, you will discover how the Internet of Things (IoT) is impacting the way individuals interact with the space around them. The IoT will determine how appliances will fit in the space, thereby presenting significant challenges to creating interior designs. Learn more about these challenges, find out how to overcome them and use them to aid your design thinking in this session. For the longest time, interior design and technology were like oil and water. Centralised room automation controls eliminate the need for switches and running wires. LED video displays also lend a sense of modernity to any space. As more consumers embrace smart living, there is a need to understand technology's function in interior design and how the two can exist in harmony. |

Despite its lean design, ST FLEX Green convinces with outstanding thermal insulation, which is also approved by the German testing, surveillance and certification body ift Rosenheim. Furthermore, it fulfils the requirements of the latest German energy-saving regulation (EnEV 2009) and harmonises perfectly with the existing DORMA sliding door range. Even the smallest ST FLEX Green door system meets the requirements of the German EnEV 2009, which stipulates a certain UD -value (thermal transmission co-efficient) for complete door systems. In addition, DORMA provides a certificate with the respective UD -value for each door system. The bigger the door system, the considerably lower the UD -value compared to the respective reference value. Despite its slender profile system with thermal insulation, the ST FLEX GREEN is extremely solid. |

Working to establish our permanent IFI Secretariat HQ in New York City, my board colleagues and I have been diligently focused on developing a stronger secretariat, team, processes and communications. This all leading to our end goal of a strong and optimal UN alliance for IFI and Interior Architecture/Design. Although continuing to sharply focus internally, we are keenly aware of our need to simultaneously work outwardly and together with each of you, our members, to move the profession forward. To this end, you will have noticed an increase in our external communications (10 in the last 5 months) and greater social media highlights of IFI, membership and Interiors related activities. As a core piece, we are also in the process preparing for a soon to be launched, redesigned and interactive website. This work underway is planned to facilitate your active engagement with us, each other and the Interiors discipline across the world. Ultimately, we hope to facilitate the fluidity of collaboration and exchange, leading to the development of new knowledge, understanding and a global fellowship.
In this message to you, I am proud to share our exciting and important recent outreach and conversations with some of our most consolidated professional associations in Latin America. VIEW FULL MESSAGE... |
