Before we left for Kenya, our home church, Lakeland Community Church took the time  to hand write us notes to bring with us. We purposed to not read them ahead of time and that we would save them for times when we needed a word of encouragement, a scripture spoken, a reminder of God’s goodness and faithfulness.

For those of you who have joined our prayer team, you have received some pretty hefty prayer requests this week regarding the unexpected illness of one of our children here who is currently in ICU. We purpose to leave things posted on Facebook very vague for obvious reasons.

With very heavy hearts today, God reminded us of our notes from home and so we grabbed the stack and on the top of the stack we found these words written, “Don’t be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God and the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts & your minds in Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 4:6-7 (Given by Merry Stier) Thanks Merry.
