W połowie czerwca ponownie zawitałyśmy (Małgorzata Jankowska, Viola Kuś) do Wrocławia. Polecamy dzieło Jarosława Czarneckiego aka Elvin Flamingo we współpracy z mrówkami z gatunku: Atta sexdens, Oecophylla smaragdina, Camponotus vagus, Camponotus herculeanus pt. "Symbiotyczność tworzenia", prezentowane w ramach 16 Biennale Sztuki Mediów WRO 2015. Autor zakłada realizację tego projektu-instalacji do 2034 roku. Trudno przewidzieć, w jaki sposób ostatecznie mrówki przetworzą zaplanowany i zbudowany techniczny ekosystem. Choć instalacja budzi pewne wątpliwości etyczne, to jednak urzeka możliwością zbliżenia się do świata tych organizmów poprzez słyszalne dźwięki wydawane przez nie

w procesie komunikacji. Instalacja i jej techniczne rozwiązania pozwalają na ich odbiór i to niewątpliwie jest piękne (fotografia - Centrum Sztuki WRO / arch. Fundacji om).   

/ Coming back to Wroclaw, the next conversations, the revealed machines_ b.4 - 06/2015

In the middle of June we (Malgorzata Jankowska, Viola Kus) arrived in Wroclaw. We do recommend the piece of art created by Jaroslaw Czarnecki aka Elvin Flamingo with the cooperation of the ants from the below mentioned species: Atta sexdens, Oecophylla smaragdina, Camponotus vagus, Camponotus herculeanus named “Symbioticism of creation” that was presented during the 16th Media Art Biennale WRO 2015. The author assumes the project will last till 2034. It is hard to foresee how the ants will finally transform the planned and constructed technical ecosystem. Even though the installation rises ethical questions, it does fascinate by allowing viewers to come closer to the world of these insects through

the audible sounds produced during communication. The installation and its technical solutions let us record them, which is really moving (a photo – WRO Art Center/ om Foundation archives). 

Bardzo intensywny plan wrocławskich spotkań zaowocował rozmowami i nawiązaniem współpracy

z Laboratorium Humanistyki Współczesnej UWr. Z inicjatywy laboratorium planujemy wydarzenie artystyczno-badawcze w ramach naszej próby eksperymentu _e.1/2015-2017. Wydarzenie to będzie miało miejsce podczas Konferencji "Czego Pragną Drony? Technologia, Etyka i Sztuka".

Do ww. eksperymentu włączyliśmy drona jako maszynę dokumentującą 1 plan (akcja performatywna)

i 2 plan (monitorowanie stanu neurofizjologicznego artysty) naszego działania. Obecnie ustalamy miejsce wydarzenia, trwają rozmowy z Muzeum Narodowym i ASP we Wrocławiu. W związku ze wspomnianym eksperymentem nawiązaliśmy również kontakt z Ośrodkiem Dokumentacji Sztuki ASP we Wrocławiu, przyjazne rozmowy prowadziliśmy z Marcinem Mierzickim i Januszem Czyżewiczem, a także z artystką Ireną Lipińską. Próba eksperymentu we Wrocławiu z udziałem performance Ireny będzie ostatnią

z 4 wystąpień przed realizacją eksperymentu planowaną na 2016 rok.

/ Since we had a very busy schedule in Wroclaw we have managed to hold numerous meetings and initiate cooperation with the Modern Humanistic Laboratory at the University in Wroclaw. Acting on

the initiative of the Laboratory we are to do the artistic-research referring to our experiment

_e.1/2015-2017. It is scheduled to take place during the conference “What do drones want? Technology, Ethics and Art". This experiment involves a drone acting as the documentary machine. It is to record

the first plan (a performative activity) and the second plan (the monitoring of the neurophisiological condition

of the artist). We are setting up the location of the activity at the moment. Talks are held with the National Museum and the Art Department of the University in Wroclaw. Due to the above mentioned experiment we started to communicate with the Art Recording Center at the Art Department at the University

in Wroclaw. We have already discussed the issue with Marcin Mierzwicki and Janusz Czyzewicz

and an artist Irena Lipinska. The trial experiment in Wroclaw involving Irena Lipinska’s performance

will be the last out of four shows before the realization of the experiment planned in 2016.

Wcześniej, we wrześniu i w połowie października, będą miały miejsce próby w Toruniu i Bydgoszczy. Pierwsza będzie realizowana przy udziale Toruńskiej Agendy Kulturalnej, w ramach mikrowsparcia.

W akcji artystycznej w przestrzeni publicznej (na Skarpie w Toruniu) performerka, Danuta Milewska, podczas działania "Patrzenia w dal" zostanie poddana monitorowaniu aktywności mózgu za pomocą urządzenia EEG MindWave Mobile, a poziom skupienia artystki będzie wizualizowany przy użyciu helikoptera starowanego za pomocą rejestrowanego sygnału EEG (rysunek / arch. Fundacji om).

/ Earlier in September and in the middle of October the tests will be performed in Torun

and in Bydgoszcz. The first test will be realized in cooperation with the Torun Cultural Agenda within

the framework of micro-support project. During the artistic action in the public space (at the Na Skarpie district in Torun) the brain of Danuta Milewska performing her „Looking at the Distance” project will be monitored by EEG MindWave Mobile. The level of the artist’s concentration will be visualized

by the helicopter controlled by the registered EEG signal (a drawing/ om Foundation archives).

Druga sesja odbędzie się na terenie Laboratorium Neorokognitywnego ICNT przy UMK w Toruniu

z udziałem artystów, w dwóch odrębnych akcjach: wspomnianej już Danuty Milewskiej i Wacława Kuczmy. Przy tych próbach testować będziemy przenośne urządzenie do zapisu sygnału EEG:

B-Alert x 24 - prezentowane już we wcześniejszym biuletynie. Próby w laboratorium planowane są

z przekazem obrazu w czasie rzeczywistym na linii Toruń – Poznań. Opisywane akcje odbędą się

z udziałem studentów pracujących pod opieką Kamila Kęski z Zakładu Reżyserii Dźwięku Akademii Muzycznej w Bydgoszczy (rejestr dźwięku na setkę z pomiarem natężenia dźwięku), a także ze wsparciem naukowców z Pracowni Neuropsychologii i Użyteczności WSG w Bydgoszczy (mobilne narzędzie okulograficzne - Eyetracker Tobii Glasse 2 – zapis obrazu odbiorcy, fotografia – Michał Szalski / arch. WSG

w Bydgoszczy).

/ The second test will be performed at the area of Neurocognitive Laboratory ICNT at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun with the presence of the artists in two separate activities: one by the above mentioned Danuta Milewska and second by Waclaw Kuczma. During these trials we will be testing the portable device used for EEG signal recording: B-Alert x 24 that had been presented in the previous bulletin. The laboratory tests are planned to be performed in real time between Torun and Poznan. Students supported by scientists will join these activities. Students are tutored by Kamil Keska representing the Sound Directory Institute at the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz (the sound recording at one hundred including the sound intensity measurement). The scientists are from the Neuropsychology

and Usability Laboratory at the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz (the mobile oculographic device Eyetracker Tobii Glasse 2 – the recording of the receiver’s picture, photographed by Michal Szalski / the University of Economy archives).

Bydgoska Pracownia Neuropsychologii i Użyteczności, którą tworzy czwórka fantastycznych osób (Remigiusz Koc, Robert Lauks, Paulina Markiewicz i Piotr Szymański) to kolejny ośrodek, z którym nawiązaliśmy współpracę. Bardzo się z tego cieszymy.

Trzecia próba, która będzie miała miejsce w Bibliotece Uniwersyteckiej Kazimierza Wielkiego

w Bydgoszczy, to akcja czytania performatywnego w wykonaniu Anetty Kuś. Próba ta odbywać się będzie we współpracy z ww. Bydgoską Pracownią WSG, z użyciem EEG EMOTIV EPOC.

/ The Neuropsychology and Usability Laboratory in Bydgoszcz created by four fantastic personalities - Remigiusz Koc, Robert Lauks, Paulina Markiewicz and Piotr Szymanski - is the next center we have started our cooperation with and we are happy to announce it.

The third test which refers to the performative reading will take place at the Library of the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz and will be performed by Anetta Kus. The test will be run in cooperation with the Neuropsychology and Usability Laboratory in Bydgoszcz using EEG EMOTIV EPOC.

Dr Joanna Dreszer-Drogorob from the Neurocognitive Laboratory in the ICNT (Centre for Modern Interdisciplinary Technologies Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun) will control the accurate monitoring
